Reminder: For the month of March, I am forming a bouquet of blog posts using a variety of “roses” that will be formed with these petals from the basket : (1) a quotation, (2) a daily verse, (3) a devotional thought, (4) a book dealing with that day’s topic, and (5) an idea to put into practice!
Petal 1: “When life goes off script, look for Jesus. No matter the threat, no matter the trial—when you see Jesus, everything changes.” —Cary Schmidt, Off Script
Petal 2: “‘Don’t be afraid,’ [Jesus] said. ‘Take courage; I am here!'” (Matthew 14:27, NLT)
Petal 3: The subtitle for the book Off Script is: “What to do when God Rewrites your Life.” I read this book for the first time almost a year ago (when my life suddenly went off script), and this week, I am reading it for the third time. If I were to state the lesson I’ve had to be reminded of most often throughout my life, it would be: the importance of keeping my eyes on Jesus! When God rewrites our lives, people want us to crumble, to be angry, to be terminally sad, and even…to rely totally on them—but more than anything else, what we need to do when trials show up unannounced is “look for Jesus!”
Petal 4: The amazing book Off Script was written by Cary Schmidt as he was going through the stages of a very difficult trial—which makes every page filled with comfort from someone on earth who “gets it.” (Printed Book – Kindle Version) [Affiliate links]
Petal 5: Today’s “tip or idea” is simply to look for Jesus in whatever you’re facing today.
