As I sat down to write something earth shattering (which I know would be a first!), I began by taking a moment to pray and thank God for the many blessings that were mine this morning. The desire to author the “earth-shattering” post grew dim in my amazement at the things for which I am thankful today.
So instead of an earth-shattering post, I thought I’d just list (brain-storm style) some things for which I am thankful this morning…
…the changing colors of Fall; my Savior, Jesus Christ; new mercies each day; godly parents; laughter; forgiveness; love; the color yellow (seriously, it brings me joy); siblings who care; awesome brothers-in-law; nieces and nephews (including -in-laws and greats) that I adore; the smell of maple syrup and the sale during which I purchased the bottle for 30 cents; sunshine; my balcony; fresh haircuts; health; strength; hope; a great church; a great church family; the impact of the writings of Beth Moore, Priscilla Shirer and Nancy Leigh DeMoss; friends; technology; fun dishes; antiques; an email containing work; God-given talents and skills; a clean apartment; clean sheets; time to craft, time to read and time for walks; Scripture; writing; and, of course, readers and subscribers of PetalsFromTheBasket.com!
Is there one thing for which you are particularly thankful today?
Thankful that God is gracious and does not deal with us according to our sin and constant failure and times of unbelief. He is gracious and merciful and holds back his wrath. I read Ps. 78:1-39 with the kids today! =)
